Shopping With Benefits
5 reasons to shop Thrift Studio by Dwell With Dignity right now
Dwell With Dignity opened its Thrift Studio doors once again, and this time it's better than ever. With amazing, gently used items for the home coming in daily, you're bound to score treasure after treasure at this unique philanthropic pop-up shop.
Thrift Studio is located at 1250 Slocum St. in the Dallas Design Center. Dallasites can shop the deliciously decorated space for furniture, artwork, home decor and accessories — at dramatic discounts.
We've got five reasons to hit the Thrift Studio right now. But we are fairly certain that if you have been there before, you need little convincing. But hurry: The shop is only open through November 9.
It benefits Dwell With Dignity.
Thrift Studio is unlike any thrift store you've ever seen. It's a biannual 30-day pop-up shop filled with vignettes curated by the top interior designers in Dallas. It was created to provide financial viability and fundraising for Dwell With Dignity by selling the overstock of donated gently used furniture, housewares, accessories and high-end designer finds to the public.
All proceeds from Thrift Studio benefit Dwell With Dignity, a nonprofit group of interior designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. The organization provides and installs home interiors for families — from furniture, art and bedding to kitchen supplies and food for the pantry.
It takes the Partners Card.
Dallas goes crazy for Partners Card, and come Friday, October 25, it's time to put those bad boys to good use. Why not start your annual Partners Card shopping spree at Thrift Studio?
The people at Dwell With Dignity know the way to your heart, so this year they are honoring Partners Card, which benefits the Family Place. After all, nonprofits need to help each other out. So now your purchases are doing double good duty.
Now is the time to start thinking about holiday decorations.
The holidays are almost upon us, and with that comes a need for all manner of tinsel and trimmings to get your home holiday-ready. At Thrift Studio, you can find high-end, gently used Christmas decor — from trees to ornaments to Christmas place settings — at significantly reduced prices.
Even if you think you think you have all the holiday decorations you need, it never hurts to add a few new and beautiful pieces to your existing collection.
You can crib ideas from Dallas' top designers.
Each Thrift Studio calls upon a cast of fabulous designers who install vignettes using items from the Dwell With Dignity warehouse as well as items they have donated from their own inventories. So not only can you purchase chic home decor, but you can also get great ideas for how to pull it all together.
This year you can see the creative visions of designers Cody Hutcheson from Codarus, Horchow, Katie Reynolds from Lilli Design, Leslie Pritchard from Again & Again, Neal Stewart from Neal Stewart Designs, Sherry Hayslip from Hayslip Design Associates, and Todd Fiscus from Todd Events.
You can score both vintage and modern finds.
There is nothing better than a piece of home decor that has a good story attached. At Thrift Studio, shop for beautiful artwork, an amazing piece of mirrored furniture or a swank sofa. Vintage monogrammed china and tableware sit atop fantastically crafted tables.
There is room after room of history just waiting for its new home, but there are modern luxuries as well. We were particularly fond of the sunburst mirrors, contemporary pillows and brightly colored furniture.
Regardless of what you seek, you can find it for less at Thrift Studio. The best deal of all? Your purchase helps to give someone less fortunate a wonderful new space in their new home and some extra food in the pantry.
