Townhome Living
Gotta move quick on these Oak Lawn townhomes with rooftop decks
The townhome community going up at 4607 Steel St. is a good example of what’s on the market in a prime neighborhood for less than $400,000. The first 10 sold, so developer Urban Innovations is building seven more, two of which have pre-sold, according to construction manager David Espedal.
Why so hot? Blame it on the contemporary style, open-concept floorplans with high ceilings and downtown views from the rooftop decks. The units are listed by Stephen Hemphill with Urban Lofts Townhomes for around $399,00.
The gated community will have 17 three-story units total, each with three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths and a little more than 2,100 square feet. A first-floor private yard, second-story balcony and that aforementioned rooftop deck offer plenty of outdoor living space. They also come with a two-car garage.
Bedroom one (in the photo, it’s staged as an office) with walk-in closet and a full bathroom are on the first floor, which also boasts a coat closet in the entry. Off the bedroom is a private yard with 10-foot cedar fence. Three-quarter-inch oak hardwood floors run throughout the first and second floors.
Another excellent feature is the zoned HVAC system, meaning each floor is controlled by its own thermostat, which is so important in multilevel properties during hot summer months when you want to control your AC bill.
On the second story you’ll find the large, light-filled living and dining areas, which are pre-wired for a sound system. Off the living room is a small balcony, and there’s a powder room nearby, as well as a laundry room that fits a full-size washer and dryer.
At the far end of the second story is the modern kitchen, with Foster cooktops and draft hoods imported from Italy. The hoods were custom-made by Crescente just for these townhomes. Granite counters top the custom cabinetry, and there is also the now-requisite wine fridge.
On the third story is the master bedroom, with two walk-in closets. The ensuite bathroom is super luxe, with dual vanities topped with Silestone, custom cabinetry, and a walk-in shower and wet area with bathtub.
A third bedroom has another walk-in closet and full bathroom; also on this floor are two hallway closets (so much storage!). The third story also has the walk-up to the rooftop deck.
If you want to get your hands on one of these townhomes, you’d better act fast, as there are only five left!
