Uptown Living
State Thomas party pad has everything a Dallas urban dweller desires
The for-sale townhome at 3009 State St. has the best of everything, starting with its location in the State Thomas neighborhood. If you work downtown, the office is only minutes away; it can hardly be called a commute. Better still, you can walk to some of Uptown’s hottest restaurants and bars.
“The location is about as stellar as it gets in Uptown,” Rogers Healy and Associates listing agent Tyler LeBaron told Candy’s Dirt. “Just steps away from staple food and beverage hangouts such as Standard Pour and great hidden gems like Si Tapas, this location has all the walkability any urban-dwelling millennial could require — and then some.”
The townhome has been renovated top to bottom in the last two years, and its transitional design has a wide appeal. Along with in-demand hardwood floors, Carrara marble countertops, Viking stainless steel appliances and a Nest thermostat, there are fun flourishes like a chalkboard wall in the living room and tree-patterned wallpaper in the kitchen. Some fixtures, like the faucets in the master bath and the pendant light hanging over the kitchen island, have a retro feel.
All told there is 2,010 square feet, with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. There really isn’t a thing to do but move in your furniture. Also handy is the two-car garage. We do love our cars in Dallas, after all, no matter how close we are to where we want to go.
Although it has a lot in the way of competition, the home’s best feature might be the rooftop deck. It has all the party pad essentials: pergola, grill, bar fridge, ceiling fan and room for ample seating. It’s also wired for a wall-mount TV.
Is there a view from up there? Of course; there is a clear shot of downtown. And there had better be for its $625,000 price tag.
