Carrollton adds hip new mixed-used project to downtown district
Carrollton gets yet a little more hip, thanks to a new development being built in the downtown area. Called Olympus on Broadway, it's a mixed-use and transit-oriented residential community going up at at the intersection of Main Street and Belt Line Road.
The project will have 383 residential units across three, four-story buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge. It's by High Street Residential, a subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, with Olympus Property, who've begun construction.
Pre-leasing will begin in September 2020.
High Street Residential first began the Union at Carrollton project in 2011. This represents the fourth phase.
Joel Behrens, principal with High Street Residential Dallas-Fort Worth, says in a release that they're capitalizing on the success they've had on the first three phases.
"For over eight years, we have been working with the City of Carrollton to create this cohesive community that not only provides exceptional living spaces, but also greenspace, walkable paths, and retail offerings for the entire City of Carrollton to enjoy," Behrens says. "The revitalized area has brought a new energy to the city."
The project will feature efficiency, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units ranging from 474 to 1,540 square feet. Amenities will include washer-dryers, cabinets, solid surface counters, and nine- to 10-foot ceilings heights.
Community amenities include conference room, business center, resident lounge, an entertaining kitchen, a resort-style pool lounge and pool area with sunbathing shelves, fire pits, and grilling areas, and four courtyards.
There will also be a fitness center, dog park, and package room.
Anthony Wonderly, principal of Olympus Property, calls Olympus on Broadway a huge milestone for Downtown Carrollton. "The demand for residential units and mixed-use space in this area has continued to grow since the first phase opened in 2013," Wonderly says. "We've been able to capitalize on that demand through the project’s additional phases and have successfully created a dynamic community where people want to be."
The release declares that Downtown Carrollton Square has a unique walkable urban lifestyle with restaurant and shopping destinations.
The project is located off I-H 35E and adjacent to the Downtown Carrollton Green Line DART station, which affords access to Uptown Dallas and downtown and DFW Airport.
