A Hotel for Training Camp Fans?
Dallas Cowboys recruit Omni to build hotel at team's Frisco headquarters
The under-construction Dallas Cowboys headquarters in Frisco just received a big upgrade, as the team has partnered with Omni to build a hotel at the site. The new Omni property, which will break ground in spring 2015 with an eye at opening in early 2017, will feature 300 guest rooms, meeting space, ballroom and rooftop pool deck.
The hotel will be the biggest part of the mixed-use development, which will also include a 12,000-seat multipurpose event center to be used by the City of Frisco, Frisco ISD and the Cowboys.
Given that the Cowboys plan to officially move into their new headquarters in time for the 2016 season, a new hotel right next door will likely only fuel speculation that the Cowboys will move their training camp from Oxnard, California, to Frisco for the 2017 pre-season.
The new hotel will join Omni's four other properties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the Omni Dallas Hotel, Omni Fort Worth Hotel, Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas and the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West.
The hotel and Cowboys headquarters will be located at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway on a 90-acre tract that will also include other corporate offices, retail stores and restaurants.
