Residential real estate professional Stefany Nau has lived near the M Streets for almost 20 years. She was introduced to the area by her then-boyfriend (who is now her husband). After four weeks of dating, she was sold: “Yes, I fell in love with him — and the neighborhood!”
So it’s no surprise that Stefany is passionate about showing off the “Magic of the M Streets” to her clients.
Named for two of the neighborhood's most prominent streets, Monticello Avenue and McCommas Boulevard, this part of East Dallas draws an eclectic mix of residents with its rows of endearing, well-crafted cottages and cozy, relaxed vibes.
“It has such a youthful essence while also maintaining that old-school charm as one of Dallas’ first neighborhoods,” says Stefany. “There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy and experience here.”
Centrally located, the M Streets are convenient to downtown, Deep Ellum, Lakewood, and White Rock Lake, which means you’re truly just a few minutes’ drive from museums, businesses, concert venues, and nature.
Many of Lower Greenville’s cool restaurants with rooftop views and local pubs are literally just a walk away.
“There is never a dull day, which makes this area — and my job — extremely interesting,” says Stefany, who is passionate about finding and negotiating the best home deals for her clients.
When she’s not making power moves for her clients, you’ll find her spending time with her husband, their daughter, and their two fur babies, Tucker and George — or perfecting her badminton skills.
Stefany offered up a few of her personal favorites about life in the M Streets. Here's her guide to the area:
Where to eat & drink
Many of the cool-kid restaurants and bars of Lower Greenville are within walking distance. “I really like the Truck Yard!” says Stefany. The everything-in-one destination has food trucks, indoor and outdoor seating, live music, and it’s pet-friendly.
Where to play
Stefany suggests Deep Ellum’s vibrant nightlife, dining destinations, and live-music venues like Trees, The Factory, and more.
For daytime fun, she suggests Klyde Warren Park and, while you’re there, walk over to the Dallas Museum of Art or swing by the Perot Museum of Nature & Science.
Where to live
“This neighborhood has so much to offer,” says Stefany. “Unlike many city neighborhoods these days, this one is full of lush trees, an abundance of greenery, and unique architecture like stunning Tudor-style homes that remind you of gingerbread houses.”
Stefany loves bringing young professionals and both new and established families to the M Streets to experience the magic of its historic charm, its college game-day energy, and the friendly waves from neighbors.
“You really can have it all, right here in this pocket of East Dallas.”
