Uber-hot Oak Cliff gets chic senior housing development
How a city takes care of its most vulnerable residents says a lot about its character. For three years, the City of Dallas has been working with the Oak Cliff community and Bank of America to develop the Parks at Wynnewood into senior housing.
Located on an 8.5-acre site in North Oak Cliff, the Parks at Wynnewood will provide affordable housing for residents who are at least 55 years old.
On October 24, the Central Dallas Community Development Corporation and Bank of America broke ground on the 140-unit property. Located on an 8.5-acre site in North Oak Cliff, the Parks at Wynnewood will provide affordable housing for residents who are at least 55 years old.
“The Wynnewood seniors housing development is exactly the type of project that we need in southern Dallas,” Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said in a statement.
The senior housing construction is just one phase of redevelopment at the 48-acre Parks at Wynnewood property. Bank of America is in the midst of planning for subsequent projects for the 1940s-era complex.
