The two residential neighborhoods are but a stone's throw — or a short walk — to the bustling Greenville Avenue, where an array of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options await.

Where to eat & drink
"Cafe Izmir is an older hidden gem in Dallas, offering an authentic Mediterranean experience that stands out from typical hot spots," says Solano.
Family-owned since 1978, the cafe is all about vibrant flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. Fresh, handmade dishes are crafted daily from cherished family recipes, bringing quality and tradition to every bite. Expect outstanding service and an unforgettable taste of the Mediterranean, especially with must-try dishes like the Izmir hummus and roasted hot peppers.
Solano has her top picks ready for other cuisines, and they include:
- Terrilli's, for the best Italian and a great rooftop
- Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, for delicious pizza and wings
- HG Sply Co., for a stellar rooftop with satisfying drinks
- Apothecary, for speakeasy vibes with amazing cocktails
- Goodwins, where Solano says you must get The Underhill (bistro steak and provolone on a long roll with fries) and the GW Burger: "Split this order with a friend and share a half of each!" she advises.
- Cafe Duro, JuJu's Coffee, and The Corner Market, all for terrific coffee.
Where to play
Every few feet there's a different restaurant or shop to step into and explore, so Solano recommends grabbing your caffeine of choice from one of the aforementioned coffee shops and simply walking the neighborhood.
What to see
Catch an improv show at Four Day Weekend's home on Sears Street or a concert at the Art Deco Granada Theater.
Dallas' famous St. Patrick's Day Parade has been winding its way down Greenville Avenue for more than 40 years, complete with 90-plus floats, food trucks, vendors, and even a post-parade concert.
Where to live
"The real estate here is a standout feature, with beautiful Tudor-style homes that add both character and history to the area," Solano says. "Many have charming wrap-around porches that make the neighborhood feel inviting and warm, and are perfect for relaxing afternoons and friendly chats with neighbors."
