Friday, January 6
Fabulous French Croissants Class at Sur la Table
Already want to kick your 2017 diet? Here's a great excuse to do just that. This hands-on class teaches you to make classic, Parisian ham and gruyere, and pain au chocolat croissants from scratch. You will prep, mix, fold, and enjoy along with your instructor and classmates. Cost is $69 per person, and class runs from 10 am to 1 pm.

Crescent Court Farmers Market at The Crescent
At this monthly farmers market in Uptown Dallas, vendors offer locally sourced produce, artisanal foods, and hand-crafted items exclusive to the market. Admission is free, and the event runs from 9 am to 2 pm.
Barre and Bites at Reunion Tower
Enjoy a challenging barre workout benefiting Cancer Foundation for Life. Post-workout, enjoy strolling through various vendor booths offering massages, braiding, manicures, and, of course, tasty bites. Tickets are $20 and include a workout, swag bags, food, and one complimentary drink. The workout starts promptly at 6 pm.

2017 Hypnotic Donuts Polar Plunge at Fraternal Order of Eagles
Join Hypnotic Donuts for this fifth annual polar plunge event that is sure to add some pep to your step. Emergency Ice is even donating some ice in case we have a spring-day-in-January-type situation. Spectators and donations are welcome, and all proceeds go to the greater Dallas chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Tickets are $10 and the jump happens at 3 pm.
Donut & Beer Pairing Flight at Luck Trinity Groves
Join Luck for the New Year's Day installment of this pairing event with Glazed Donut Works. Mini doughnuts are matched with brews from North Texas craft breweries. Tickets are $18, and there are seatings at 11 am, 2 pm, and 3 pm. The restaurant is still open to the public, so a ticket does not guarantee immediate seating, just donuts and beer.

Magnificent Seven Cooking Class at Central Market
Learn about the seven essential cooking techniques used in classical cuisine in this hands-on class that allows you to practice basic kitchen skills and sample the dishes that you've made. Skills learned in this two-part series (second class is Monday, January 16) are roast/bake, broil, grill, sauté/fry, simmer/boil, steam, and braise. Tickets are $130 and the class is from 6:30-9 pm.
