Doughnut and beer pairings top this week’s best Dallas food events

This week we leap into a new month with doughnuts and beer, some kosher chili, and a festival filled with everything Irish. There’s even a place to celebrate Texas Independence Day.
Wednesday, March 2
Celebrate Texas Independence Day at Max’s Wine Dive
This celebration features a festive pairing of four award-winning Texas wines — from Duchman, Becker, Brennan, and Llano — and a curated dinner menu by Top Chef Fort Worth winner Stefon Rishel. Tickets are $50 per person, and the fun starts at 7 pm.
Thursday, March 3
Craft Beer and Artisan Cheese Pairings at Community Beer Company
Cheesemonger Ali Morgan, from Rare Edibles, collaborates with Community Beer Company for a night of delicious pairings. Tickets are $30 and include four craft beers matched with a complementary and contrasting cheese. For those of you who are not good at math, that's four beers and eight cheeses. Tickets are sold out, but call 214-751-7921 to get on the waitlist. The event starts at 6 pm.
Friday, March 4
North Texas Irish Festival at Fair Park
Thousands flock to Dallas for this celebration of Irish music, dance, food, and culture. Irish stew, shepherd’s pie, and fish and chips can be found at one of the many food booths. There are also cooking presentations, whiskey tastings, and lots of Guinness. Festival hours are Friday, 6-11 pm; Saturday, 10:30 am to 11:30 pm; and Sunday, 11:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $5.
After-work Millennial Chef Showcase at Lofty Spaces
This event introduces Dallas millennials to culinary creators and various small business owners. Each chef in this showcase creates three dishes to be circled among the crowd. Enjoy sounds by DJ Kalbanx and snap party pics in the photo booth. Tickets start at $10 (and include an open bar), and the event starts at 7 pm.
Sunday, March 6
