New Plano chicken restaurant socks it to you hot and spicy 24 hours a day

Dallas has dabbled in Nashville hot chicken, the trendy fried chicken first popularized by Prince's Hot Chicken Shack in Nashville, Tennessee, with a few area restaurants offering it as a menu item.
But now there's a restaurant dedicated entirely to the spicy-hot dish — and it's open 24 hours. Hey now.
Called 24 Hot Chicken and Waffle, it's a new concept that opened March 7 in Plano, at 1885 Dallas Pkwy., on the southwest corner of Park Boulevard, in a former location of Noon Mediterranean, which closed in 2018.
24 Hot Chicken and Waffle is an accurate name. The restaurant has chicken, waffles, and is open 24 hours, a blessing for night-owls. They'll do chicken any way you want it: tenders, nuggets, wings, whole chickens, and partnered with waffles.
But their signature is their Nashville hot chicken sandwich, with a crunchy, spicy-hot chicken breast, pickles, and their trademark "comeback sauce."
The chicken can be ordered in five levels of hot, topping out at "Pull The Fire Alarm," a fiery rub with habanero and ghost peppers.
The owners are Duke Park and Nate Hanson, who share a passion for Nashville hot chicken. Each brought their own restaurant experience, with Park having run a number of restaurants including Pinkberry franchises, and Hanson having worked at other chicken concepts.
"We visited all of the Nashville hot chicken places, and we feel confident that what we're doing is unique," Park says. "We've already gotten so many comments from customers who are saying they've never had a chicken sandwich this good."
They brine their chicken in what Park says is a "sweet" brine, fry it in a buttermilk batter, and put it on a soft brioche bun.
"But it's the comeback sauce that makes the whole combination work," he says. People are touchy about their sauce, but Park will reveal that it's mayonnaise-based.
If you want your waffles without chicken, there's a toppings bar where you can add your own, from gravy to sweet items such as chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and whipped cream.
There's a full bar with beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as flavored iced teas and a special watermelon juice that can be ordered plain or spiked with alcohol.
Since they're open 24 hours, they're serving breakfast, as well, and Park is unsurprisingly quick to champion their early-morning fare.
"We also have a magnificent egg sandwich that's just as good as our chicken sandwich," he says. "You've never had an egg sandwich or a chicken sandwich like ours."
