Taco Pop Up
Dallas chef revives favorites from Good 2 Go Taco at brunch pop-up

It's been less than two months since the closure of Good 2 Go Taco, the famed taqueria and neighborhood favorite that transformed a sleepy corner in East Dallas into a restaurant hotbed. But for those diners with a yearning for their favorite tacos, chef Jeana Johnson is doing a pop-up for the next few weekends in a row.
The pop-up will take place at the Twilite Lounge in Deep Ellum on March 19 and March 26. Johnson is partnering with Carey Burres, a personal chef and former bartender at Acme, the restaurant Johnson co-owned on McKinney Avenue in 2014. (It's now Henry's Majestic, the restaurant-bar from the Breadwinners folks.)
The pop-up will be a brunch format, and will run from 11 am-3 pm. The menu will feature two Good 2 Go tacos: the So-Co featuring biscuit, eggs, sausage, gravy, and cheddar cheese, and the popular Honey Bear with bacon, egg, spinach, goat cheese, honey, and chili.
There’ll also be two egg sandwiches, one with bacon, goat cheese, and lemon curd, and the other with ham, spinach, cheddar, tomato, and black garlic aioli.
Burres and Twilite bartender Andrew Thompson have devised an accompanying menu of four mixologized cocktails, including one with Campari, blood orange juice, and sparkling wine, and another with gin, Earl Grey tea, and limoncello.
Johnson and Burres recently launched a catering and personal-chef business.
"We were talking about our favorite breakfast foods and riffing off each other's ideas," Johnson says. "I was reminiscing about how much I miss eating at Good 2 Go every day. It was really just a spontaneous idea."
