Farmers Market debuts in Dallas' Casa Linda neighborhood
A new farmers market is opening in a Dallas neighborhood certain to appreciate it: Casa Linda Plaza. The market is from Four Seasons Markets, and it will debut at the shopping center at 9440 Garland Rd., at the intersection of Garland Road and Buckner Boulevard, on June 21.
The market will be set up on the southwest corner of the intersection, in the parking lot of Natural Grocers. It will offer nearby residents and commuters a mid-week opportunity to replenish their kitchen or stop for dinner and discover unique products – all homegrown or handmade.
Offerings will include more than 35 vendors selling fruits and veggies, jams, honey, olive oil, breads, sweets, and meats, as well as prepared food, such as barbeque and lobster. Non-food items will include woodcraft, candles, natural beauty products, and more.
There is currently a farmers market organized by Good Local Market at 9150 Garland Rd., which takes place every Saturday from 8 am-1 pm. But vendors such as Kyle Riddlesperger of Evil Cowboy, who makes smoky hot sauce, welcome the opportunity to sell their wares on a weekday, too.
"Adding a Wednesday to my Saturday and Sunday markets will be a boost," Riddlesperger says in a release.
The Casa Linda Farmers Market will be the 10th market in DFW for Four Seasons, an organizer of European-style markets. CEO Vincent Hirth says he's excited to add the White Rock area to his lineup.
"We're in a period of rapid expansion and continue to organize successful markets thanks to our team, great vendors, communities, city collaboration, and partnerships with property owners," Hirth says.
Casa Linda Plaza is home to Natural Grocers, Just Fitness 4U, Lovers Pizza, Torchy's, Starbucks, Steel City Pops, Savor Pâtisserie, and more.
"We are excited to host the market and hope the community enjoys it as an additional amenity to the shopping center," says Craig Perry, regional property manager at EDENS, which owns Casa Linda Plaza.
The Casa Linda Market will take place every Wednesday from 3-7 pm.
