Dallas Design District hotel bar-restaurant dips into poolside cabanas
A new pool-bar-restaurant called Anchor Design District Pool & Bar is setting out to make a DoubleTree hotel seem cool. Is that a mission impossible? This new hotel restaurant-bar has fruity cocktails, mid-priced "bites" and four pool-side cabanas for lounging.
"We created Anchor Pool & Bar to be the perfect setting for whatever guests are looking for, whether it is happy hour with friends or drinks and small bites by the pool on a Saturday afternoon,” says general manager Ron Disbrow in a release.
Guests can order "tropic-inspired drinks" like melon mojitos or grapefruit margaritas. Tastes created by Executive Chef Mark Yamada include tacos with pulled pork, "housemade" chicken tenders, crab cake with watermelon salad, barbacoa empanadas, grilled chicken wings in pineapple buffalo sauce, and chicken quesadillas.
There's a section identified only as "hand-crafted," leaving you to wonder how the rest of the menu is composed. "Hand-crafted" includes a flatbread, "tropical" lettuce wraps with jerk-spiced chicken and mango, and sliders on Hawaiian rolls.
Prices range from $12 to $15.
Anchor Pool & Bar guests will be served by the hotel bar and renovations are in place currently that will open the bar to the pool for better access. Bar renovations will be finalized early this fall.
This is a big move for DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas Market Center, which is now pitching its location "in the heart of the Dallas Design District."
Anchor Pool & Bar is open Monday–Friday from 4–9 pm, Saturday from 10:30 am–9 pm and Sunday from 10:30 am–4 pm.
