Genius cafe dedicated to s'mores opens at Plano's Willow Bend Mall
There's a unique new cafe opening at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano. Called S'Mores Bar Café, it will serve desserts, shakes, and hot and cold drinks.
The cafe is from Martha Ware, an entrepreneur who founded her own marshmallow company called Mallow Box in 2018. She sold gourmet marshmallows via her website mallowbox.com and at pop-up shops at malls and other venues.
Ware says she's excited to be launching her first retail location.
"We began with small local events, trade shows, and pop-ups at places like Nordstrom's before eventually having a kiosk at the Willow Bend mall," she says. "Now we've taken the next step and are looking forward to serving our great mallows and mallow-based drinks and shakes."
They'll serve s'mores, hot and cold drinks, shakes, bowls, and skewers.
Marshmallows come in a variety of flavors such as chocolate and cream, maple bourbon with bacon bits, lemon, and banana rum.
You order your s'mores, then choose from graham crackers, cookies, marshmallow flavors, chocolate types, and toppings such as M&Ms, peanuts, and coconut. They toast it for you, add your toppings, and you're good to go.
"Everything we sell has marshmallows," she says. "It's all either a dessert or a drink. We have shakes, hot chocolate, and a few coffee drinks, as well."
In addition to regular s'mores, they also have a couple of unique items, namely skewers and bowls.
"The 'bowl' is actually made from a graham cracker crust," Ware says. "And then inside, we add cream of chocolate, marshmallow Fluff, toasted marshmallows, and fruit."
Skewer are kind of like s'mores without the graham cracker. You choose up to three flavors of marshmallows, which they put on a skewer, then toast it and add your toppings. "Children love them," she says.
Grand opening will be Friday, November 15.
