    The holidays are officially upon us. From corporate holiday parties to friendly get-togethers, it's a busy time of year. But there is always time for more eating, drinking, and being merry.

    From a spectacular traditional Italian celebration in Fort Worth to a onesie pajama party in Dallas, This Week in Gluttony features events of all kinds.

    Tuesday, December 15

    Feast of the Seven Fishes Wine Dinner at Grace
    Join chef Blaine Staniford for a traditional Italian celebration featuring a seven-course meal in honor of the Feast of Seven Fishes. Courses include crudo of Spanish mackerel with Castelvetrano olives, celery leaves, egg yolk bottarga, and pumpkin seeds; Chatham Bay cod croquettes with celery root remoulade and Meyer lemon; and mascarpone panna cotta with macerated huckleberries, limoncello sorbet, and almond crumble. Sommelier Jenny Kornblum selects the wines. Dinner costs $150 a person and kicks off with a reception at 6:30 pm. Call 817-877-3388 for reservations.

    Herman Marshall and Lakewood Brewing Dinner at Eureka West Village
    Eureka is celebrating its one-year anniversary by hosting this dinner, which features a flight of Herman Marshall whiskeys (bourbon, rye, single malt, Temptress single malt), as well as Lakewood Brewing Company's Bourbon Barrel Temptress and Rock Ryder, paired with a specially curated menu. Representatives from both Lakewood Brewing and Herman Marshall will be on hand to answer questions and hand out swag. Tickets are $60, and dinner starts at 7 pm.

    Deep Ellum Wine Walk
    During this recurring event (third Thursday of the month), combine two of your favorite pastimes: wine drinking and shopping. Visitors can purchase a collectible Wine Walk glass for $10, raise it, and repeat as they enjoy samples and explore this hot neighborhood. Pick up a passport at the check-in table at 2650-B Main St. (starting at 5 pm). Have it stamped at five or more destinations — participating stores include Life of Riley, Akola Project, Epocha, and Elluments — and enter the drawing (located at the check-in table after the event) for a chance to win gift certificates.

    Friday, December 18

    Salado Whiskey Pairing Dinner at Texas Spice
    As part of Omni Dallas' monthly Third Friday event, enjoy a Salado whiskey pairing dinner starting at 6:30 pm. The evening features a heritage pork station paired with Salado sour, a local beef station paired with Salado hot toddy, gulf fish and local chicken paired with Salado tea, and sweet treats paired with Salado on the rocks. Cost is $65, and reservations are required by calling 214-979-4529.

    Onesie Charity Event at Henderson Tap House
    Grab a onesie and drink the night away. If you show up before 11 pm, you'll get a wristband for drink specials. Admission is free with the donation of a canned food item, non-perishable item, unwrapped toy, or pet food/treats.

    Sunday, December 20

    The Veg Tour at 1400 Hi Line
    Little Rock's premier vegan cafe, The Veg, is coming to Dallas for the first stop on its Veg Tour. Enjoy homestyle comfort food like "BBQ" nachos, the "lobster" roll, and cauliflower "wings." For the entree, choose from lasagna or roasted red pepper Alfredo over penne with Beyond Meat chicken. A dessert buffet includes peach cobbler, crème brûlée, doughnuts, cupcakes, and more. There is also spiked housemade vegan eggnog, spiked spicy ginger carrot juice, beer, and wine for sale at the bar. Tickets are $22.09, and dinner starts at 6 pm. The party is on the sixth floor.

    Dallas Tex-Mex favorite Manny's cooks up new concept at CityLine Richardson

    Manny’s Tex-Mex, the popular Dallas-born chain known for its classic Mexican dishes, is dishing up something new in Richardson.

    Manny's Mexican Kitchen, a "new elevated concept from the family behind Manny’s Tex Mex," has arrived at 1250 State St., across the street from the CityLine Plaza development, according to a press release.

    It joins a growing lineup of eateries at CityLine, which includes the newly opened Show Mini Hot-Pot and spots like Good Union Urban BBQ, Edoko Sushi, and Oni Ramen.

    Manny’s Tex-Mex first debuted in Uptown Dallas in 2005, and currently has four Dallas-area locations. At the new Richardson spinoff, diners can look forward to a refreshed menu from the team, which a release describes as “More Mex, Less Tex.”

    Focusing on "authentic Mexican cuisine," the menu at Manny's Mexican Kitchen includes regional Mexican dishes like chamorro en adobo, or slow-braised pork in a chile-spiked sauce, and Michoacan-style carnitas. The restaurant will also make its own birria, which will be griddled with lots of cheese into quesabirria tacos. Manny's fan favorites, such as chorizo-topped queso and classic combo platters, are also available.

    The cocktail menu takes significant influence from regional Mexican libations, with drinks like the Chapultepec, a mezcal drink inspired by Oaxaca, and the Jalisco Punch, a paloma served in a traditional earthenware vessel called a cazuela, on offer.

    The new restaurant takes over a sprawling 5,115 square foot space with a “lively, colorful setting designed for gatherings and celebrations,” according to the release. The space was designed in partnership with Coeval Studio, the Dallas design firm responsible for the look at restaurants like Pizza Leila, Hendy’s on Henderson, and chic Highland Park champagne bar Coupes, among other establishments.

    “We’re thrilled to welcome Manny’s Mexican Kitchen to CityLine and introduce a new dining experience that’s full of flavor, culture and personality,” said CityLine marketing director Marissa Gonzalez. “Located just steps from our Plaza and signature events, we’re excited to continue growing a dining lineup that brings people together and gives our guests something new to discover every time they visit.”

    Manny’s Mexican Kitchen held its grand opening festivities on Wednesday, February 25, and is now open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
