An exciting new outlet for Indian food is coming to Frisco: Chalo India, an Indian/Desi grocery, meat market, and eatery, will open at Shops at Panther Creek, 11010 Panther Creek Pkwy. #1, to meet a growing demand for products from India.
According to a release, it'll open in May.
The store will occupy a 10,000-square-foot space, serving as a one-stop shop for spices, produce, halal meat, and other Desi delicacies.
Customers will find fresh and frozen Indian staples, from basmati rice and lentils to vegetables and halal meat.
The store will also include a café with a patio for dine-in or take-out, as well as a catering operation.
Chalo India co-founder Rishma Dara says in a statement that it will not only feature products in demand but will also provide a place for people to connect.
"North Texas craves the genuine taste of India and South Asia," Dara says. "We're building Chalo India to be the cultural and culinary hub where this community can thrive. Here, you'll find not just groceries, but a warm, welcoming space to connect, celebrate, and savor every authentic bite."
The Shops at Panther Creek was developed by Dallas-based GreenRoad Development Construction LLC. The store will be located on corner of Panther Creek Parkway and Hillcrest Road, one that is both visible and accessible, two things you definitely want in a store.
Thurston Witt with CBRE represented Chalo India in the transaction. Tim McNutt with dba Commercial Real Estate represented the landlord.
“Chalo India is a huge win for Frisco and the vibrant North Texas Indian community,” says Thurston Witt in a statement.
