Elegant brasserie makes Dallas debut with breakfast, lunch, & bubbly
A fancy brasserie has opened in the Harwood District between Uptown and downtown Dallas: Called NDA Brasserie, it's the latest concept from Harwood Hospitality Group, and is now open at 2801 N. Harwood St. #100, serving American classics with a Southern twist, open for breakfast and lunch, but not dinner.
It's the 20th concept for Harwood, and located on the ground floor of their Harwood No. 14 building. So much Harwood!
“We are ecstatic to introduce NDA Brasserie into the vibrant tapestry of the Harwood District, further enriching our thriving city within a city,” says Harwood International Design Director Melinda Clark in a statement.
A release describes the ambience in glowing terms: A brass entrance leads to a main dining room with banquette seating, rosewood ceilings, Texas knotty pine walls, and white oak floors.
The focal point is the bar, topped with Etruscan gold marble and featuring antique mirror insets. Appointments include leather plus businesswear fabrics such as herringbone, plaids, and paisley prints.
Adorning the walls are 1883 Vanity Fair Spy Prints - antique chromolithograph images featuring caricatures of lawyers and judges. There are also prints by French painter and sculptor Honore Daumier depicting legal scenes with a satirical edge.
The release has less info about the menu, which is an omission since it includes yummy-sounding juices such as grapefruit and orange-beet; and smoothies such as blueberry-acai and a chocolate protein smoothie.
Breakfast includes eggs benedict, sweet potato hash bowl, huevos rancheros, oatmeal, parfaits, biscuits, cinnamon roll, avocado toast, and tres leches French toast.
Lunch includes starters such as tuna nachos, tenderloin crostini, and spinach-artichoke dip, plus classics like chicken noodle soup, Asian chicken salad, Green Goddess salad, Caesar, and a wedge; and sandwiches including a burger, French dip, shrimp po'boy, lobster roll, and a club. Four entrees include hanger steak frites and Cajun chicken with French fries.
Desserts are a bit pricey at $12 to $14 but include carrot cake, cheesecake, and chocolate cake. There are also cocktails and wine including many wines by the glass, including five bubbly options including fabulous and not-that-common Taittinger for $32 per glass but a bargain at any price.
They're open weekdays 8 am-2 pm Monday and Saturday-Sunday from 9 am-3 pm. During the evening hours, the space is available to rent for private events.
