Sharon Hage, too
Bowl & Barrel owners team up with singer Pat Green to open restaurant-bar The Rustic
Free Range Concepts, which owns Bowl & Barrel and the Sunset Lounge, will open a third concept, called The Rustic, in partnership with singer-songwriter Pat Green.
The full-service restaurant and bar, open for lunch and dinner daily, will open in the spring of 2013 in Uptown, at the corner of Lemmon Avenue and North Central Expressway. The exact address: 3656 Howell St., by that area where the golf range was. It'll feature a backyard patio for eating, drinking and live music. Performances by Pat Green, maybe?
Free Range staffers Josh Sepkowitz and Kyle Noonan have been busy; they recently took over Sunset Lounge on Ross Avenue. For The Rustic, they've partnered with Green and local businessman Brian Manion.
A release says that the patio will accommodate casual dining and outdoor concerts, but the focus will be on food and drinks. To underscore that fact, they've yet-again hired chef Sharon Hage to develop the menu. More designer hot dogs?
But no word on menu specifics yet. Noonan is quoted in the release as saying that they're "committed to using only beef, poultry and game from local ranchers; produce from local farmers; and the largest selection of Texas beers found anywhere." Yay, more local craft beer! (Wonder how many taps?)
The release quotes Neal Sleeper, from the developer Cityplace Company, as saying that they've wanted a live music venue in the West Village for many years, and that the site's contours "provide a natural amphitheater with Uptown Station and the trolley turntable as a backdrop."
