H-E-B supermarket opens its newest Dallas-area store in McKinney
Supermarket chain H-E-B has opened its newest store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this time McKinney, at 8700 Eldorado Pkwy., with a grand opening celebration on July 19.
This is the third H-E-B store in DFW, joining recently opened locations in Frisco and Plano. The company also has six Central Market locations in DFW.
The McKinney store spans 118,000 square feet, and offers H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery, allowing customers to place orders online for pickup at the store or home delivery.
The McKinney location has a similar (identical?) set of distinctive features such as a True Texas BBQ, H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru, fuel station and car wash, and a "Home by H-E-B" home décor department featuring furniture, woven textiles, and accent pieces from the Haven + Key and Texas Proud collections.
Other offerings include sushi and sashimi by the pound, and a special custom DFW Roll, made with avocado, cucumber, spicy tuna, and salmon that’s seared and topped with spicy mayo and green onions.
Energy-efficient features include CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting; native landscaping, and a tree preserve that buffers store activity from the neighbors.
It won't stop at McKinney. H-E-B has stores in Alliance, Allen, and Mansfield under construction, and also plans to open two Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B stores in Dallas, their smaller lower-priced concept, and the first locations outside the Houston area.
