Frenchy restaurant La Madeleine debuts 2 new Dallas-area locations

Frenchy restaurant chain La Madeleine is expanding in Dallas-Fort Worth with not one but two new cafes opening in November: one in Dallas and one in Prosper.

The Dallas location is in a newly constructed 2,800-square-foot space in the Preston Center Pavilion shopping center at 6109 Berkshire Ln., in an address that used to be Rock & Roll Sushi.

According to a release, the café will officially open on Wednesday, November 8 at 7 am with a grand opening event called Rompre le Pain, “to break the bread,” and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon with the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

The Prosper location is at 1140 S. Preston Rd #10 inside Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ development, Gates of Prosper, and will have its grand opening on Wednesday, November 15.

Prosper is a biggie, at nearly 5,000 square feet, featuring indoor and outdoor seating, and will be the first La Madeleine in Prosper.

If you like bread, it's worth your while to show up at the openings: The first 100 guests will receive free bread for one year, and all guests can enjoy a complimentary baguette on opening day, while supplies last.

"Preston Hollow and Prosper are prime locations to give locals a little escape to France with classic pastries and authentic French recipes," says La Madeleine Chief Operating Officer Christine Johnson. “For over 40 years, la Madeleine has been a treasured part of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and we’re grateful for the warm reception of these new locations.” Huh, is Preston Center Preston Hollow?

This represents a return to Preston Center for La Madeleine, which had a location at 8319 Preston Rd. at Berkshire Lane for many. years but which closed in 2015. (Carlo’s Bakery took the space in 2016 but it closed in 2021. It's now a bank.)

Founded in Dallas in 1983, La Madeleine is currently owned by Groupe Le Duff, based in Rennes, France, and operates more than 86 corporate and franchise locations in nine states.

The Prosper location is from franchisee Dan Rizvi, who is opening his fourth cafe.

“As someone who has been a loyal customer of the la Madeleine brand long before becoming a franchisee, I believe that Prosper residents will embrace having this beloved North Texan concept as their new dining option, which offers authentic French cuisine along with our signature personalized service,” Rizvi says.

The cafés are open daily from 7 am–9 pm. All-day breakfast options, sandwiches, soups, salads – including la Madeleine’s Original Caesar Salad and signature Tomato Basil soup – plus entrées and traditional French bakery and retail items are all available for dine-in, to-go and delivery.

Complete menu, catering and la Madeleine Online French Market information is available at lamadeleine.com and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Learn more about la Madeleine’s franchise opportunities at franchise.

Dallas restaurant Frenchie debuts in former Corner Bakery spot

A French restaurant has debuted in an iconic Dallas space: Called Frenchie, it's a new concept from Travis Street Hospitality (Knox Street Bistro, Georgie) now open in North Dallas’ Preston Center Plaza in the former Corner Bakery space at 8420 Preston Center Plaza.

Described as a quintessential French brasserie — designed as a casual, everyday restaurant serving an all-day menu of lunch and dinner (with breakfast launching in the coming weeks) — it's a new direction for Travis Hospitality, who are venturing outside of their usual Knox-Henderson neighborhood, with their first venture without white-tablecloth service.

Frenchie is the natural evolution for founders Stephan Courseau and Daniele Garcia and culinary director, Bruno Davaillon, who have built a reputation on refined, French-forward restaurants like Knox Bistro, Georgie, and Le PasSage — tempering their French-born culinary heritage and fine-dining training with American sensibilities to create a more family-friendly concept designed for North Dallas’ premier mixed-use district.

"Frenchie is an American French restaurant made by French guys who are now in the American mainstream,” Courseau says in a release. "Frenchie represents the version of the French people we are today. It’s who we became over the years – authentic to who we are today."

    Food and drink
The menu blends classic French comfort food with all-day versatility, featuring crepes, rillettes, quiche, poulet rôti, tartare de boeuf, salade Parisienne, and pâtes au pistou. In the morning, coffee and croissants. At lunch, burgers and onion soup. At dinner, steak frites and profiteroles dinner.

The wine list will feature small French wineries, while cocktails will include a "freezer martini" — custom bottled and pre-chilled by Travis Street Hospitality’s Executive Mixologist, Mario Martinez, exclusively for Frenchie.

    Decor
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will feature seating for 150 in the dining room and bar, and a 1,200-square-foot covered patio with an indoor-outdoor bar.

Decor will be grounded in the fundamentals of classic French bistros, with design details such as pewter bar tops, patinaed mirrors, brass sconces, rattan chairs, and rows of banquettes.

    Audience
The goal will be to become an everyday destination for families, parents, office workers, and shoppers at the Preston Plaza Center.

Founded by Stephan Courseau and Daniele Garcia, Travis Hospitality has been on the dining scene since 2013 with the debut of Le Bilboquet. This was followed by the opening of Knox Bistro, Georgie and The Georgie Butcher Shop (2019), Rose Café at Le PasSage and Le PasSage (2024).
