McDonald's reveals 2 new CosMc's beverage shops coming to Dallas-Fort Worth
Festivities at CosMc's, the McDonald's spinoff that opened in Dallas.
McDonald's is opening two new locations of its CosMc's concept, a spinoff focused on beverages, in Arlington and Fort Worth.
According to a release, the beverage-led drink shop concept will open a location in Watauga at 7304 Denton Hwy. on April 2.
That'll be followed by one in Arlington at Abram's Alley, 300 E. Abram St. #150. Arlington will open on April 8, timed to coincide with the total solar eclipse. How cosmic.
Watauga is only the third location for the new concept, following an original that opened in 2023 in Bolingbrook, Illinois in 2023, and a Dallas location that opened on March 19 - the first of its kind in Texas.
They plan to open nine "test and learn" locations across Dallas and San Antonio in the coming months.
The menu at CosMc's seems to be more in competition with Swig, the drive-through drink chain with fruity lemonadey beverages founded in Utah in 2010.
To wit, the drinks available at CosMc’s Dallas include:
- Sour Cherry Energy Burst
- Churro Cold Brew Frappé
- Island Pick-Me-Up Punch
Also like Swig, the ability to customize your drink is touted.
Beyond beverages, there are a few sandwiches: Spicy Queso with sausage, and Creamy Avocado Tomatillo with bacon, and Egg McMuffins. Other menu items include McPops, a filled fried dough already served at McDonald's, plus soft pretzel bites, hash browns, and desserts.
It also has soft-serve, available in cones, sundaes, and a selection of Blizzard-like McFlurry shakes in flavors such as Oreo and M&M's.
For DFW, they're adding two more menu items, as described in the press release:
- Beach Protein Frappe: a breezy blend of banana flavor and protein-packed whipped indulgence
- Melon Herb Chiller: a fusion of watermelon and mint flavors paired with lemonade and an invigorating arctic kick
The new Watauga location is in a former Mexican restaurant called Los Cuando, and has been under construction for some months. Like the other CosMc's locations, it will have drive thru, counter service, and walk-up ordering.
The Arlington location will take over a former design firm space, alongside a strip of restaurants that include Twisted Root, Namoo Korean Bowl, and Flying Fish.
