Valentine's Day Tradition
Patrons spread the love at preview party for adored Dallas luncheon
The lovely Lisa Singleton, chair of the 2015 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show, rounded up more than 100 supporters for a party at Dallas Auction Gallery to honor top patrons.
She welcomed guests while fellow luncheon team members — honorary chair Lynn McBee, underwriting chairs Jennifer LeLash and Nikki Webb, and raffle chair Maggie Kipp — made the rounds, thanking everybody for their generous support of the event, which raises crucial funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In some ways this was a beautiful blast from the past, as several previous luncheon chairs — including Kate Rose Marquez, Natalie Fogiel Moon and Rainey Fogiel — were there to help celebrate all of the donors, including presenting sponsors Nancy C. and Richard Rogers.
Guests were also reminded of a new aspect of this year’s activities: “Shop the Runway.” Fashion sponsor Highland Park Village is hosting a champagne reception at each of the featured designers’ stores — Five and Ten, Hadleigh’s, Lela Rose, Ralph Lauren, St. John and Trina Turk — immediately following the luncheon, where the featured runway looks will be ready for the taking.
One of the many reasons that this luncheon is so near and dear to many in the community is the awards presentation. This year Singleton, McBee and advisory chair Carmaleta Whiteley are honoring three women: Jennifer Houser (Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award), Linda Somerville (Memorial Hero Award) and Brooklynn Alexander (Spirit of Tom Landry Award).
The 31st annual Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show is slated for Tuesday, February 17, at the Meyerson Symphony Center. It is not too late to get your luncheon ticket or buy a raffle ticket (or two or three or four). For more information visit the luncheon’s website.
