Field Day Fun
Dallas young professionals take it to the field to fundraise for kids
The young professionals group of Community Partners of Dallas (YCPD) recently gathered at The Rustic for the second annual Field Day fundraiser, chaired by Sarah Charbonnet and emceed by Fox 4-TV meteorologist Jennifer Myers. Seventeen teams of six participated in games that ranged from an egg race and wheelbarrow relay to a Hershey Kiss relay.
There even was a social media station, where team members posted selfies or team photos with the hashtag #ycpdfieldday. From there, as participants shopped the Mystery Bag Station — featuring prizes like Texas Rangers tickets and gift cards to Neiman Marcus, the PilatesBarre, Trinity Groves, and more — points were tallied and 10 teams were chosen to move on to the quarterfinals.
By the end of the day, two teams remained to battle it out in the final competition, and last year’s winners — Claire Carroll, Jack Gannon, Grant Blair, Jon Mitchell, Michael Trecha, Erin Dowell, Clair Gannon, and Walt Prudhomme — were victorious yet again.
The day concluded with an after party featuring cocktails and savory fare like double queso, brisket quesadillas, boar meatballs, onion rings, and french fries.
Funds raised on Field Day support Community Partners of Dallas, which assists abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services. YCPD is the young professional group of CPD, whose mission is to inspire a new generation of supporters through opportunities to volunteer, socialize, and network.
