Named for two Dallas art dealers who made significant contributions to the local art scene in the 1980s, the annual award recognizes an outstanding North Texas artist who also has a proven track record as a community advocate for the visual arts. Lauster’s work — which ranges from digital media and printmaking to sculpture and installation — investigates and appropriates American history and aspects of the country’s identity.
