Feel the Love
These Texas cities do romance way better than most others in America
Can you feel the love tonight? According to a new list of the most romantic U.S. cities, you should be able to feel the love every night in three Texas towns.
List-happy reservation website OpenTable has released a roundup of the country's 25 most romantic cities. The site looked at the percentage of restaurants rated "romantic" by diners, number of tables for two and percentage of people who dined out on Valentine's Day last year.
San Antonio takes the No. 2 spot on the list behind — get this — Atlantic City, New Jersey. (We suppose that what happens after a night of gambling could be construed as romance.) Although San Antonio lost its title of most romantic city in America (which it held in 2013 and 2014), its fine-dining scene is still thriving. OpenTable highlights a plethora of Valentine's Day specials at places such as Citrus at Hotel Valencia.
Austin claims the No. 9 spot, up two from 2014. LaV and Truluck's Seafood recently received nods from OpenTable for offering some of the most romantic dining experiences in the nation, but this time around, the website suggests dining at bistro classic Chez Zee, Aroma Italian Resaurant or Freda's Seafood Grille.
Fort Worth comes in at No. 21. If you find yourself in Cowtown for a romantic getaway, OpenTable recommends Valentine's Day specials at Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine and Le Cep; the latter recently was named one of the best new restaurants in the state.
Rounding out the top five are those other hotbeds of romance Providence, Rhode Island (No. 3); Key West, Florida (No. 4); and Birmingham, Alabama (No. 5).
