Southwest Airlines launches 72-hour flash sale with $49 fares from Dallas
Summer is gone and the holiday season is a month away — which makes this the perfect time for travelers to hatch the perfect escape plan.
Knowing this, the savvy folks at Dallas-based Southwest Airlines have launched a 72-hour sale starting October 2, with fares below $100 round-trip. The flash sale runs through October 4.
One-way fares start at $49, offering a cheap way to piece together a return trip (or an economical way to start a new life in a new city). In keeping with Southwest tradition, fares jump to $79, $99, or $129 for longer flights. For example, flights from Dallas Love Field to Amarillo start at $49; a trek to Seattle/Tacoma, Washington is $129.
Other sample one-way Dallas fares include: Austin, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, or Little Rock, $49; New York (LaGuardia), Minneapolis/St. Paul, or Omaha, Nebraska, $79; Orlando, Philadelphia, or San Francisco, $99.
The promotion is good for domestic travel from November 28, 2018 through December 19, 2018. Available dates include January 3, 2019 through February 13, 2019. One caveat: Domestic travel is not valid on Fridays and Sundays. Fares also only apply for nonstop flights.
Those who, of course, want to get away should check restrictions and schedules and make a reservation posthaste.
