Cool residential-style Denizen Hotel opens in hip McKinney district
A cool new residential-style hotel has debuted in McKinney: Called Denizen Hotel, it's at 7200 SH 121, in the buzzy District 121 complex, where it promises access to dining, entertainment, and amenities within a walkable urban setting.
Owned and developed by a hospitality company named Archstreet Hotel Partners, Denizen Hotel has 102 guest rooms with a few standout features including the fact that they come equipped with kitchenettes with full-sized refrigerators and freezers, for a home-like experience.
The property also has a communal living room, indoor & outdoor seating areas, a communal pantry with a snack bar featuring beer, wine, and grab-and-go food and beverages, a fitness center, and guest laundry facilities.
Room rates start at $138 per night.
Archstreet managing director Michael Mueller says in a statement that the hotel's prime location in District 121, combined with thoughtfully designed accommodations and amenities, guarantee equal appeal for business and leisure travelers.
One big perk is its proximity to a number of dining options nearby such as Bob’s Steak & Chophouse, Mi Cocina, Common Table, and Broken Yolk.
The Commons at District 121 also boasts outdoor gathering spaces, and events including live music and outdoor games, submerging guests into an almost homey environment with options for relaxation and entertainment.
Archstreet and its sibling Vinetower are hotel development companies based in Dallas that are owned and controlled by Mueller and Jeff Cohen.
Mueller has been in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years and is responsible for the creation and growth of several hospitality companies and brands, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, W Hotels & Resorts, and NYLO Hotels, which he founded in 2004 and sold to an offshore investor in 2014.
Denizen Hotel is managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, which uh-oh just got taken over by lenders in order to try and avert bankruptcy proceedings.
