Construction begins on streetside upgrades around Dallas Love Field
Construction is about to begin on a project designed to spruce up the neighborhood surrounding Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL).
The airport will begin deploying a series of streetscape enhancements that include the installation of sidewalks, bicycle paths, landscaping, gateway features, enhanced lighting, intersection safety improvements, upgraded traffic signals, wayfinding signage, and the creation of a neighborhood pocket park.
Construction is set to begin on Lemmon Avenue on Monday October 9. The project is expected to be completed by early 2025.
According to a release, the goal is to improve the area's visual appeal and contribute to a safer and more user-friendly environment.
The project's scope encompasses Lemmon Avenue from Collville Avenue to Shorecrest Drive and Shorecrest Drive from Lemmon Avenue to Webb Chapel Extension. These enhancements align with Dallas Love Field Airport's commitment to enhancing the overall experience for travelers and residents, ensuring that the area remains a welcoming and accessible destination.
During construction, they anticipate temporary traffic disruptions and detours near Lemmon Avenue, Collville Avenue, Shorecrest Drive, and Webb Chapel Extension.
Dallas Love Field Airport encourages residents, travelers, and businesses to stay updated on project progress and traffic advisories through its official website and social media channels. Inquiries or feedback from the public throughout the project will be gratefully received and considered.
Patrick Carreno, Director of Aviation at Dallas Love Field, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming project, saying, "We are thrilled to see these improvements coming to Lemmon Avenue. This project underscores our dedication to the community and our ongoing efforts to create a more enjoyable and safer environment for everyone. We appreciate the public's patience during the construction phase, and we are confident that the result will be well worth the wait."
