Texas Monthly names the Joule and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Dallas among the bestin the state
Whether you're in the mood for a staycation or just need authoritative advice for out-of-towners, two Dallas hotels stand out among the rest — according to Texas Monthly, anyway. The Joule Dallas and Ritz-Carlton, Dallas both made the cut in the magazine's annual "Where to Stay Now" list, which identifies 10 hot hotels and a handful of runner-ups.
Every hotel in town will call you a cab, but only the Ritz has a complimentary chauffered Bentley for trips within a 3-mile radius.
The Joule won over associate editor Jordan Breal with its rooftop pool and bar, Charlie Palmer restaurant, and rainforest showerheads; the Ritz-Carlton earned its spot for Best Mode of Transportation. Sure, every hotel in town is willing to call you a cab, but only the Ritz has a complimentary chauffered Bentley for trips within a 3-mile radius.
If you're planning a road trip, Houston and Austin also have exceptional accommodations. Houston's Hotel ZaZa was recognized for its overall excellence as well as the Best Do Not Disturb Sign, which sports a supermodel and the phrase "I'm busy putting on my makeup."
In Austin, Travaasa and Hotel Saint Cecilia got the nod. Located on the shores of Lake Travis, Travaasa is an 18-month-old wellness resort offering everything from "culinary demonstrations to horseback rides to harmonica lessons."
Saint Cecilia is a boutique hotel with a more conventional vacation experience. The "tree-lined pool" is reportedly a favorite hangout for musicians traveling through town, and the lending library of vintage LPs adds a level of authenticity to that claim.
