A proactive eyewitness helped Dallas police bust up an organized crime ring on October 9. Four suspects are now in custody for allegedly committing a series of robberies in Dallas and Richardson.
In the early morning hours of October 9, the eyewitness heard glass breaking and saw two people kicking in a window at Nail Works on Oak Lawn Avenue. The witness then drove his car past the location and saw the suspects standing inside the building by the cash register.
He followed the suspects as they fled the location, then flagged down a police squad car.
Officers arrested Tyson Forward, 25; Darren Brown, 24; Baby Boy Hunter, 22; and Vera Hunter, 20. Inside the suspects' vehicle, police found a flat screen television and other property believed to be stolen.
Two of the arrestees confessed to the crime spree and gave detectives information about other burglaries. In addition to Nail Works, the foursome is suspected of burglarizing Cell4Sure in Richardson, Highland Park Animal Hospital in Dallas, and Basset Furniture on McKinney Avenue.
All four suspects were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, a third-degree felony.
