Imagine Dragons graduates to superstardom with show at American Airlines Center
Well, that was quick. Just a week after band-on-the-rise Imagine Dragons played two shows at the relatively intimate South Side Ballroom, they've officially moved into the big time by announcing the 21-city Into the Night tour that will have them playing arenas, including Dallas' American Airlines Center on February 21, 2014.
Not to toot my own horn, but I did call it. Of course, given that their debut album, Night Visions, has already gone platinum, and that each of their first three singles — including the ultra-popular "Radioactive" — have been downloaded millions of times, that was probably one of the easiest musical predictions to make in recent memory.
The North American tour will start in Boise, Idaho, on February 8 and last until March 15. Dallas is one of only two Texas cities on the tour; the band will also play in Austin on February 20.
They'll be joined on all dates by New Zealand alternative rockers The Naked and Famous and by Nico Vega and X Ambassadors on select dates.
Tickets for the Dallas date go on sale on Friday, October 11, but there are multiple presale opportunities. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets starting Tuesday, October 8, through Citi's Private Pass Program; fans can RSVP at bit.ly/ImagineDragonsRSVP for early access to presale tickets on Thursday, October 10; and Live Nation mobile app users will have access to presale tickets beginning Thursday, October 10. A fan club presale has already begun.
