Little Elm Crafthouse ferries craft beer and growler bar to lakeside setting
Little Elm is about to have a craft beer moment. Coming soon to this town sandwiched between Frisco and Lewisville is Little Elm Crafthouse, a new brewpub set to open in late June. Located at 850 W. Eldorado Pkwy., across from Little Elm Park near Lake Lewisville, the Crafthouse will serve craft beer in flights, pints and growlers.
Owner Kyle Carpenter, who's undertaking this venture with his father, Todd, is a craft beer disciple who wants to spread the word. "It's about our love of craft beer and the community it represents," he says. "That's what we wanted to bring to Little Elm."
They're serving beer but won't be brew it, and they won't serve food. "This is a craft beer and growler bar," Kyle says. "I've always loved craft beer and touring breweries. After I discovered growler shops, I fell in love with them. And the demand is growing."
They aim to be both unique and local.
"For our beer selection, we'll try to have funky and creative beers, the ones you cannot purchase at every grocery in the area," he says. "We also want to support local brewers like Community. A lot of local breweries have the same styles, but they all brew with different methods and ingredients."
Little Elm is happening. Alamo Drafthouse chose Little Elm for its fourth location in Dallas-Fort Worth, to open in Main Marketplace in 2016. And the town has a brewery in the works, as well, called Little Elm Brewing Co.
Little Elm Crafthouse is going into brand new construction, and Kyle says they chose their location carefully. "We want to bring it to a place by the lake, because we feel like there's nothing better than spending time with family and friends," he says.
