Bolsa restaurant hires new chef but shows no love for his BBQ past
One chef out, another chef in: Bishop Arts restaurant Bolsa has a new executive chef: Andrew Bell, who starts November 1. Bell replaces Jeff Harris, who left to take a position with Consilient.
With plans to change the dinner and brunch menus shortly, Bell will remain true to the Bolsa philosophy of farm-fresh ingredients, fine dining, reasonable prices and relaxed setting.
In a release, co-owner Chris Zielke describes Bell as being "at the top of his game in the kitchen," with a commitment to using locally sourced products that's in line with Bolsa’s values.
Bell has bobbed around in kitchens from Austin to Dallas, including Wink and Uchi in Austin and Parigi, Citizen, Mercury, Nosh Euro Bistro, Aurora and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas.
But, hmm, the release has a glaring omission: It doesn't mention Bell's own Dr. Bell's BBQ, which closed in 2010. No love for the barbecue?
