Rent Stats
Are you renting in one of Dallas' most expensive ZIP codes?
The latest Apartment List Rent Report declares Dallas the most expensive metro area for renters in the state, but how bad are the prices within the city? RentCafe created a heat map that identifies the priciest and most affordable areas in which to temporarily hang your hat, and the numbers are staggering.
The ZIP code 75225, otherwise known as Preston Hollow and University Park, is the priciest. While the area is already known for being one of the best places in Dallas to be a homebuyer, it does have a few rental units — 1,315, to be precise — in addition to those pretty homes. But tenants definitely pay the price for the tony ZIP code: It'll cost you $1,744 median rent to live there.
Uptown and the Arts District, found in 75201, are next on the list, with renters shelling out $1,614 on average. 75207 at the Stemmons Corridor ($1,571), 75204 in Uptown/Deep Ellum ($1,545), and the West End's 75202 ($1,475) round out the top five.
So where can you get the most bang for your buck in Dallas? Cedar Crest (75216) is the most affordable, with median rent for its 2,741 units coming in at only $625 a month.
Other areas to check out if you're budget conscious are 75241 in Highland Hills ($650), Buckner Terrace at 75227 ($665), 75210 in Fair Park ($675), and the Wynnewood and Redbird neighborhoods at 75224 ($675).
