Dallas Style Setters
Hats off to these Dallasites recognized as most stylish in South
Southern Living magazine recently rounded up the 75 most stylish Southerners. Not surprisingly, the editors found a couple in Dallas: Kimberly Schlegel Whitman and Michelle Nussbaumer.
The publication asked these best-dressed Southerners to sum up what they love about Southern style right now. Whitman, the local entertaining expert and woman-about-town who serves as Southern Living’s editor-at-large, shared her tips for buying pearls and took the opportunity to brag on Dallas women.
“Dallas is full of women who love to embrace their own personal style regardless of trends,” she said. “I love that women here are confident enough to follow their own path and wear what works on them.”
Nussbaumer, founder of Ceylon et Cie, had this to say: “Southern style is set apart by tradition, elegance and timelessness. It is reminiscent of English country houses with inherited pieces and, of course, great hospitality.”
Fashion designer Billy Reid also made the cut, and even though he technically lives in Florence, Alabama, we like to claim the Art Institute of Dallas graduate as our own.
Other Texans on the list include Paul Qui, Deana Saukam, Alyson Fox and Kendra Scott from Austin and Cecilia Márquez from Houston.
