Once we got word that NBA All-Star Tyson Chandler and his wife, Kimberly, had collaborated with Selima Optique for a line of sunglasses called Our Secret, we knew a launch party of Dallas Mavericks-sized proportions would soon follow.
To show off the new sunnies, the power couple hosted a VIP party at Forty Five Ten — where the collection is sold exclusively in Dallas — alongside store owner Brian Bolke. It turned out to be a family affair — Chandler’s basketball family, that is. Amar’e Stoudemire, Chandler Parsons, Raymond Felton and Bernard James all showed up to celebrate with their teammate. Coach Rick Carlisle also gave the Chandlers some off-court support.
Creative director Browne Andrews and brand namesake Selima Salaun mingled with Dallas’ most fashion forward partygoers — including Shelle Sills, Barbara and Don Daseke, Myrna and Bob Schlegel, Anna-Sophia van Zweden, Niven Morgan, Shelby Wagner, Sharon Young, and Faisal Halum — as they enjoyed sips by Casa Dragones Tequila and bites from The Joule. When it was time to talk about the collection, Bolke praised the Chandlers for who they are and what they created.
“We are thrilled to exclusively launch the exciting Selima collaboration with Kimberly and Tyson Chandler,” Bolke said. “They epitomize the very best of Dallas — friendly, open-minded free thinkers with fearless personal style and a worldly outlook.”
Salaun also praised the creative couple, calling their vision “crystal clear” and their eye for detail “exquisite.”
Our Secret sunglasses are crafted of Italian cellulose acetate and outfitted with UV400 lenses. Prices range from $175 to $350.
