Where To Drink Now
Where to drink in Dallas right now: 5 bars with unbelievable views
Too often we find ourselves staring down at our phones while knocking back a drink or two. If you swing by these five bars, however, you can't help but look around in awe — and we don't just mean at the pretty patrons.
Hit up one of these watering holes the next time you want some scenery with your sips.
Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck
The ultimate in Dallas landmarks, Reunion Tower and its GeO-Deck are where everyone goes to marvel at the entire city that stretches out before them. If you stop in the tower's highly rated restaurant at night, you'll slowly do a 360-degree tour every hour as the floor rotates.
Soda Bar at NYLO South Side
In the summer, this hotel bar is known for its always-packed infinity swimming pool, but you can catch incredible views of downtown Dallas year-round. Claim a cabana, order a glass of bubbly, and just take it all in.
South Dallas is the place to be for the best views, apparently. The bar at the Belmont Hotel in Oak Cliff has long been the go-to spot for a little atmosphere with your icy martini, and as a bonus, the scent from the restaurant Smoke down below sometimes wafts upwards.
HG Sply Co.
Greenville Avenue has plenty of patios, but there's something special about the one atop Paleo restaurant HG Sply Co. Get there at sunset and you've got a watercolor portrait of downtown in the distance, or come a little earlier and people-watch the bustling street below. Order an old fashioned or a gimlet and stay through the whole evening.
A view doesn't always have to mean buildings in the distance. From the glass-enclosed restaurant in Klyde Warren Park, you can pretend you're lost in nature while still enjoying the sparkling lights of downtown. Order a Chai Tea Pimm's Cup and truly feel like you could lounge around all day enjoying the view.
