Diva dogs drag their Dallas humans to paws-itively pleasing party
Host Shane Walker welcomed Dallas animal lovers to his Flower Reign for a festive kickoff to the SPCA of Texas Paws Cause 2015. Four-legged guests were also welcome, and they inspired lots of good times in the photo booth and in the caricature sketches.
Fueled by snacks whipped up by Food Glorious Food and champagne donated by Kristen and Scott Greenberg, altruistic attendees — including Phyllis Comu, Billy Fulmer, Diane Brierley, LeeAnne Locken, Steve Kemble, Christina Miller, Karen Lukin, Holly Forsythe, Katy Murray, Cynthia Smoot and Nicole Hutchison — also shopped for goodies in the store, as Flower Reign agreed to donate 20 percent of party proceeds to the SPCA’s Mary Spencer/Neuter and Wellness Clinic at Village Fair in South Dallas.
Paws Cause, slated for Sunday, June 14, at the SPCA’s Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in West Dallas, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Expect more nibbles from Food Glorious Food, musical entertainment by the British Are Coming, a silent auction, the famous Bone Appetit restaurant drawing and more. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased online.
The SPCA of Texas’ Mary Spencer Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic helps moderate the stray animal population in high-need neighborhoods. Each year, the clinic performs more than 11,000 low cost spay/neuter surgeries.
