Hot Table Alert
You can now make reservations for John Tesar's steakhouse Knife
Wheee, let the hot-table frenzy begin. You can now make your reservations for Knife, the hotly anticipated steakhouse at Hotel Palomar from chef John Tesar.
According to a spokeswoman for the restaurant, Knife officially opens for breakfast and dinner on May 15. But as a kind of sneak preview, the restaurant is also taking brunch reservations for Mother's Day on May 11.
The spokeswoman also said that reservations could be made on OpenTable. But the earliest reservation available on OpenTable was for May 18, as seen here.
A collaboration between Tesar and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Knife has a modern American menu, prepared using classic European techniques. The big talker on the menu is a prime rib that's been aged for 240 days.
The brunch hours on Mother's Day will run from 11 am to 3 pm. It's a special menu that's still being formulated, according to a manager at the restaurant, who said that some reservations have already been made but that some open tables remain.
