Among the offerings are a national theater tour, a local theater production, a major block party, three concerts with big-time bands, and an appearance by a famous comedian.

Thursday, June 15
AT&T Performing Arts Center presents Something Rotten!
Set in 1595, Something Rotten! is a hilarious smash that tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. The production runs at Winspear Opera House through June 25.
Shakespeare Dallas presents The Merry Wives of Windsor
The 2017 edition of Shakespeare in the Park gets started with The Merry Wives of Windsor. It's the story of the disreputable Sir John Falstaff and his pursuit of two housewives, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page, who outwit and humiliate him. Meanwhile, three suitors seek the hand of Anne Page, Mistress Page’s daughter. The play runs through July 21 in repertory with Quixote, which starts on June 21.
Friday, June 16
Dallas Arts District presents Summer Block Party 2017
To celebrate the impending official beginning of summer, the Dallas Art District's three museums — Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Crow Collection of Asian Art — band together for this block party. Flora and Harwood streets are lined with food trucks and special activities, and each museum highlights their newer exhibits. You can also see a concert by Sarah Jaffe followed by a screening of La La Land at the Nasher.
Metallica in concert with Avenged Sevenfold
All of Dallas-Fort Worth's major concert venues are in use Friday night, starting with this concert at AT&T Stadium. Metallica, which is approaching their 40th anniversary, come back to Dallas-Fort Worth as part of their WorldWired 2017 tour in support of their new album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. They are joined by opening act Avenged Sevenfold.
Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull in concert
The first of the double headliner concerts Friday night feature Latin superstars Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull at American Airlines Center. Iglesias has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, including his latest, 2014's Sex and Love, while co-headliner Pitbull is touring in support of his 10th full-length album, Climate Change.
Chicago & the Doobie Brothers in concert
Two of the most successful and critically acclaimed rock bands of all time, Chicago and the Doobie Brothers, co-headline this concert at Starplex Pavilion. Chicago has been going strong for almost 50 years, releasing 24 albums, including 2014's Chicago XXXVII: Now. The Doobie Brothers have been at it for almost as long, though they haven't been quite as prolific, releasing 14 albums, including 2014's Southbound.
Demetri Martin in concert
Comedian Demetri Martin is a multi-hyphenate talent, having transformed his stand-up routine and writing for shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Daily Show into a successful TV and film career. He starred in his own Comedy Central series, Important Things with Demetri Martin, and just released his directorial movie debut, Dean. He gets back to his first love with this stand-up concert at the Majestic Theatre.
Sunday, June 18
Texas Rangers present Dinner with the Rangers
This event lets you get up close and personal with one Texas Ranger while also enjoying a day at the ballpark. Packages include two tickets plus parking for the Sunday afternoon game against the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Park in Arlington, dinner, a photo and Q&A with first baseman Mike Napoli, and one autographed baseball. Proceeds benefit the Texas Rangers Foundation.
Scott Stapp in concert
Singer Scott Stapp has had a full career, jumping into stardom as the lead singer of Creed in the late 1990s. The band broke up twice, leading Stapp to release two solo albums, including 2013's Proof of Life. His latest venture is as lead singer of the supergroup Art of Anarchy, which recently released their first album with him, The Madness. This is a solo concert for Stapp at Trees, with support from opening acts Art of Dying, Jeremy (of Willet), and Rockett Queen.
