High-profile Dallas pet lovers give more than puppy love at SPCA shindig
What: SPCA of Texas’ 20th anniversary Paws Cause
Where: Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center
The 411: More than 300 animal lovers were greeted in the best possible way — by puppies, of course — at this tropical themed party for a cause. Guests fueled up with sliders and their choice of a Whiskerita or a glass of Tailwagging Rum Punch, and they were encouraged to hit the dance floor to enjoy rock hits performed by The British are Coming.
Event chair Phyllis Comu and her host committee also put together a solid silent auction, with art, spa treatments, pet care products and much more. Celebrity chef Blythe Beck was even on hand to auction off a package that included a five-course tasting dinner for eight.
The event raised more than $180,000 for the SPCA of Texas Clinic at Village Fair, which helps provide more than 11,000 free and low-cost surgeries and 15,000 health and wellness treatments in 2015.
