Wine But Not From the Vine Class at Whole Foods Preston Forest
Grapes, who needs ’em? Join the experts at Whole Foods as they explore a variety of berry, fruit and honey wines, with the unique flavors of strawberry, blueberry, peach and more. This 7 pm class is free, but you must register.
Thursday, July 9
Cosmos and Cookie Decorating at Barcadia
At this unique class, enjoy laughs, cosmos and sweets as you create cookies in fun shapes like stilettos and little black dresses. Every week, there is a different theme. Early bird tickets are $30; regular admission is $35. The class lasts from 6:30-8 pm.
RustRidge Wine Dinner at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House Forth Worth
A five-course dinner is paired with wines from RustRidge Ranch and Winery of St. Helena, California. Courses include seared halloumi cheese, miniature Maine lobster rolls, iron-seared Arctic char with parsley pesto quinoa, three-pepper crusted beef ribs, duo of cocoa nib-crusted beef tenderloin with a summer truffle demi-glace and chimichurri marinated lamb chop with foraged mushroom ravioli, and more. Bordeaux Varietals Wine Tasting at Pappas Bros.
This tasting showcases outstanding examples of wines from around the world that trace their heritage to this classic region, including Semillon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Caramenere. The event lasts from 6-8 pm and costs $65 a person. This is a wine tasting, not a wine dinner, although seasonal hors d’oeuvre will be served. Call 214-366-2000 for reservations.

Asian Street Food Dinner at Grace
Grace chef Blaine Staniford and Tokyo Cafe chef Kevin Martinez host an Asian street food dinner on the patio. The menu features a mix of Asian-inspired and American dishes such as crispy Peking duck with Koshihikari rice, kumquats, watermelon pickle and kimchi; tonkotsu ramen; chili lobster and Shiro Kogi beef ribs; and coconut custard with mochi, lychee nuts and miso crumble. Sunday Supper at CBD Provisions
This is the kickoff to a weekly series that runs through August 2, and each Sunday features a different three-course menu. Dishes range from charred romaine Caesar salad to Gulf fish fry to coconut layer cake. Barley’s Angels July Chapter Meeting at Deep Ellum Brewing Company
The female-centric beer appreciation group is easing back into chapter meetings with a casual and fun trip to Deep Ellum Brewing. The $18 ticket includes three beers, brewery tour, appetizers and a DEBC pint glass to take home.
Cheese 101 Class at Scardello Artisan Cheese
Experience comparative tastings of cheese and out-of-the-ordinary items that help you focus on the distinct flavors of each cheese type. The class covers the basics on how cheese is made and the fundamentals of pairing it. The $40 ticket also includes drinks; reserve quickly, because these classes often sell out. It starts at 7 pm.
