Celebrate Good Times
Dirk Nowitzki, Nick Lachey and all-stars party with purpose at Club 41
To celebrate Dirk Nowitzki’s Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game, VIPs — including Nick Lachey, Mike Modano, Mark Cuban and Charlie McKinney — packed into 129 Leslie in the Dallas Design District for a swanky fundraising fete.
Themed “Club 41” (after Nowitzki’s number), the event raised funds for the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation, a nonprofit that provides education, health and wellness for children around the world, and the Heroes Foundation, which brings sports training and competition to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities.
Event planner Lara Beth Seager transformed the warehouse into a sexy space with bright lights, disco balls and richly draped walls. The environs suited the all-star guest list, which included David Justice, Devin Harris, Brendan McMahon, Michael Finley, Vince Carter, Terrell Owens, Kirby Schlegel, Justin Whitman, and Kelly and John Trabold.
The next day, star athletes Carter, Owens, Finley, Harris, Brandon Carr, J.J. Barea, Drew Pearson, Brian Cardinal, Jae Crowder, Ben Grieve, Nate Livings, Eduardo Najera, Chandler Parsons, Geoff Stults and Roy Williams joined Nowitzki, Cuban and Donnie Nelson at the Dr Pepper Ballpark for the celebrity baseball game presented by Baylor Medical Center.
These guys know how to work hard and play harder — especially when there’s an important cause on the line.
