Adorable summer fundraiser at Uptown Dallas boutique goes to the dogs
What: Dog Days of Summer
Where: Stanley Korshak
The 411: Stanley Korshak was transformed into a puppy paradise for the third annual summer fundraiser benefiting The Dog Alliance's Hounds for Heroes program. As guests (many, accompanied by their their fur babies) arrived at the Shak, they were greeted by rescue dogs from Recycled Pomeranians Rescue, East Lake Pet Orphanage, and Doodle Rock Rescue, which were available for adoption throughout the night.
The rescue dogs ran and played in the doggy courtyard as people got their photos taken in front of Ochoa Photography’s custom flower-themed doggy photo backdrop.
Attendees nibbled on light bites and cocktails provided by Mutts Canine Cantina, Dulce Vida Tequila, and No Coast Beer Co. DJ Blake Ward kept the music upbeat while guests mingled throughout the SHAK and perused the tables set up with merchandise from various vendors.
Real Housewives of Dallas star Kameron Westcott, accompanied by her Yorkshire Terrier, Louis Westcott, sold her signature pink Sparkle Dog food. RAW by Canines First offered dog treat samples, and Club Mutts Treat Truck exhibited their popular doggy fashions and accessories. Author Mimi Nolan autographed copies of her book, The ‘Tail’ of Mr. Big.
At the end of the event, emcee Amy Vanderoef announced the winners of fabulous raffle items, including a gift basket from Vanderpump Dogs; a Vivian’s Boutique Spa “spa-cation” package; and a pink Save My Bag purse from Stanley Korshak.
All proceeds from the raffle and a percentage of the sales from Stanley Korshak and RAW by Canines First benefited Hounds for Heroes, a program of The Dog Alliance. The organization's next event is the 2018 FIDO Sand Volleyball Tournament on October 20 at the Sandbar Cantina in Deep Ellum.
Funds raised from both events will help provide service dogs for veterans and first responders in Texas.
