1. Shark Tank cinnamon roll sensation cozies up to Richardson’s Alamo Drafthouse. Gourmet cinnamon roll shop and Shark Tank graduate Cinnaholic is inching closer to Dallas, landing an especially sweet address. The California-based chain, which offers vegan-friendly, customizable cinnamon rolls, is opening a location in Richardson near the popular theater.
2. Who will become the next CultureMap Stylemaker? Vote now. It’s that time again — time to celebrate the most fashionable men and women in Dallas in our third annual Stylemaker Awards. These 12 semifinalists were selected by our judging panel, and the top six vote-getters move on to the final round to determine the readers’ choice winner.
3. Date-ready Asian barbecue restaurant drops in Dallas’ Deep Ellum. The culinary menu in Deep Ellum broadens with Niwa Japanese BBQ, a new "yakiniku" restaurant opening in the fall. Also known as Japanese barbecue, yakiniku is similar to Korean barbecue, in that diners receive raw ingredients such as meats and vegetables to cook at the table themselves.
4. It takes $350,000 to get this Pinterest-worthy Richardson rambler. If there’s one thing buyers today all seem to want in a home, it’s an open floorplan. (At least, that’s what an afternoon binge-watching a marathon of HGTV’s House Hunters will lead you to believe.) The house at 639 Lockwood Dr. in Richardson fits this bill — for the reasonable price tag of $354,000.
