Rousing gala lassos loot for crucial equestrian therapy in McKinney
What: Eighth annual Gala at the 'Gait
Where: ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship
The 411: More than 750 people came together in their best Western attire for a beloved cause. As guests mixed and mingled among the horses in the barn, local restaurants — III Forks, Harvest, Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen, Whiskey Cake, Mexican Sugar, and Velvet Taco — served up festive fare to attendees browsing silent auction items.
Averi Benson treated guests to a rendition of “This Little Light of Mine,” and following a rousing and record-breaking live auction, country artist and Texas native Jenna Paulette sang while two-steppers danced the night away. The event raised more than $485,000 for this McKinney-based nonprofit equestrian therapy program, which serves adults and children with disabilities across North Texas.
Who: Event chair Dawnda Daniel, Brandon Daniel, Priscilla and Bill Darling, Landon and Zach Schneider, Gary and Giselle Montagna, Carolyn and David Brooks, Judy Pogue, Farabe Algor, Scott Peek, Kristen and Bill Howell, and Maggie and Eric Hudson.
