The 411: For a few rare hours in which rain was not deluging Dallas in early October, foodies and fashionistas joined celebrity chefs at The Eye at The Joule for the 10th annual Burgers & Burgundy, benefiting DIFFA/ Dallas (The Dallas Chapter of Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS). Hosted by The Joule Hotel, the milestone backyard bash was presented by chef John Tesar and Terri Provencal, with hosts Bryan Loving and Jim Sheehan.
Guests mingled and took selfies under The Eye as they sipped on cocktails provided by Ketel One Vodka, wine provided by Impeccable Rosé, and coffee creations provided by Starbucks, while listening to tunes by DJ Steffi Burns. But enough about the drinks.
People were there to eat burgers, and they were not disappointed. Partygoers sampled burgers created by the likes of chefs Tesar (Knife, Knife Burger), Justin Brunson (Old Major; Denver, Colorado), Tim Rattray (The Granary; San Antonio), Josh Smith (Moody’s Delicatessen; Boston, Massachussetts), Mat Urban (Commissary), Nick Walker (CBD Provisions), Bruno Davaillon (Bullion), Sharon Van Meter (Taco y Vino), Blaine Staniford (Grace), Mariel Street (Liberty Burger), Josh Sutcliff (Mirador), Coner Seargeant (Wheelhouse), and Rodman Shields (Common Table).
Guests bid mightily in a silent auction of restaurant experiences, gift cards, and hotel stays. DIFFA/Dallas chair Lee Borchert welcomed and thanked guests, and Steve Noviello made the much-anticipated announcement of the 2018-2019 DIFFA/Dallas Style Council ambassadors, who will help the organization raise funds and awareness, and help educate the community about HIV/AIDS.
