Charitable Dallas revelers let loose for Heart of a Warrior Foundation Casino Night
The good times were rolling at the W Dallas Victory hotel when 200 supporters of the Heart of a Warrior Foundation gambled the night away for a good cause at the second annual Vegas-themed Casino Night.
Foundation founder Gail Warrior, along with honorary co-chairs Congressman Marc Veasey and his wife, Tonya, welcomed guests — including Tomeka and Keith Herod Herod, Shonn Brown, Kristen and Ethan Boothe, Sarah and Zachary Carroll, Niema and Julian Collins, and Katrina and Bill Keyes — who played casino games and hit the dance floor to tunes courtesy of DJ Barney Live.
In keeping with the theme, revelers sipped signature cocktails by Lucky Player Vodka and noshed on dishes such as Caesar salads in cocktail glasses (in honor of Caesar’s Palace), Chinese stir-fry in individual takeout boxes (to represent the Mandarin), and lemon and thyme chicken sliders (for Planet Hollywood).
Emcee Shon Gables, anchor for WFAA’s News 8 at Daybreak, kept energy and spirits high, encouraging guests to bet big and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes such as Dallas Cowboys luxury suite tickets, a VIP package from Tootsies, chef experiences, luxury vacations and more.
All told the evening raised more than $71,000 for the Young Warriors Summer Learning Program, an eight-week academic enrichment program for children ages 5 to 15.
