Charity scene queens Maggie Kipp and Shay Geyer lured fellow social butterflies to the home of Lisa Blue Baron for a festive kickoff for the 2014 Equest Triple Crown Gala: Hats & Horses – A Texas Derby Day Soirée.
Honorary co-chairs Val Imm Bashour and Phyllis Glazer helped rally the troops — including Ann Dyer, Connie and Denny Carreker, Katy and Lawrence Bock, Jennifer and Chris Lelash, Bill Earheart, Patrick Bricker, Melissa Cooksey, and Emily Hargrove — who are passionate about Equest and its mission to help children and adults through therapeutic riding.
Individual donations and sponsorships, raised through events like the Triple Crown Gala, account for 86 percent of Equest’s program expenses. The gala is set for May 3, 2014, at Texas Horse Park, with the Kentucky Derby simulcasting live at 5:15 pm.
So what are you waiting for? Time to start the search for the most dapper derby hat in Dallas.
